How it works

From a class set to a signed-off decision.

Four steps. Your criteria at the start, a person at the end, and the evidence kept along the way.

  1. Uploading a rubric and mark scheme so marking follows your criteria
    1

    Put your criteria in

Upload the rubric, question paper or mark scheme you already use, or describe the task and build one in seconds.

  2. Uploading a whole cohort as a single ZIP
    2

    Upload the work

One script or a ZIP of the lot: Word, PDF, handwriting, audio or video. Files are matched to learners and marked in the background.

  3. Reviewing and editing the draft before sign-off
    3

    Review and sign off

Change a mark, rewrite a comment or send a borderline script for a second opinion. Nothing reaches a learner until you confirm it.

  4. Targeted worksheet and learner pack generated from marked gaps
    4

    Send the next step

Release feedback, generate worksheets from the gaps, and export CSV or PDF for moderation, IQA and leadership.

Academic integrity

Evidence for a fair conversation, not an accusation.

Evidence of how a learner writes, not a single AI percentage. Three checks sit beside the mark and build up on the learner’s profile over time. Each shows its working, and a person records what happened next. Why evidence beats a detector score

Writing fingerprint

Compares new work with the learner’s own past writing, not a generic average.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers about AI marking, data, fairness and who stays in control.

How does AI marking speed up grading with Feedback Flows?

Feedback Flows applies your rubric or mark scheme to student work, drafts personalised feedback, and keeps you in control of the final review. It removes repetitive marking admin while preserving professional judgement.

Is it safe? What happens to my students' work?

Student work is processed over encrypted connections. We do not sell student data. Learner work is used only to produce the result you asked for: we do not use it to train or build AI models, and our AI provider does not train on it either. You retain full ownership of all data.

Will our learners' work ever be used to develop AI?

No. Feedback Flows does not use learner work to train or build AI models, and our AI provider processes requests through an API that does not train on your content. Work stays yours; you can export or delete it at any time. See How we handle learner work for the full commitments.

Do I need to enter a credit card to sign up?

No. You can sign up with just your email and password and try the platform with free credits, without any commitment or financial details.

Does AI marking replace me as a teacher?

Never. Feedback Flows is an AI marking assistant, not a replacement. It drafts marks and feedback against your criteria so you can focus on final judgement and teaching decisions. You are always in control of the final grade.

Does it work for my subject?

Yes. It is especially useful for essay-based subjects, coursework, reports, vocational assessments, exam papers and structured question-and-answer tasks. If the work can be assessed against clear criteria, Feedback Flows can help.

How reliable is the AI writing detector?

No AI detector is proof on its own. Feedback Flows combines a language model with writing signals, adjusts for EAL and younger writers, shows verified evidence quotes and compares against the learner's own baseline. The result is a starting point for a conversation, and the teacher records the outcome.

How does enterprise pricing work?

We do not publish one enterprise price, because every school, trust, training provider and college is different. Quotes are sized to your markers, learners and marking volume, so organisations usually pay less than buying packs for every teacher, and every quote starts with a no-pressure trial on real work.

Can you provide a DPA and security information for procurement?

Yes. Feedback Flows Ltd is ICO registered and UK-built. We can provide a data processing agreement and a security pack for procurement, and enterprise organisations get audit logs, role-based access and policy controls.

Can AI suggest assessment grades under EAL's AI Position Statement?

EAL's AI Position Statement says AI may support assessment decisions provided it is not used in isolation. AI may generate a suggested outcome or grade (for example Pass, Merit or Distinction) for consideration, but the final decision and award must be made by a qualified human assessor who independently reviews the learner evidence. Feedback Flows is designed for this model: AI drafts suggested marks and feedback, and you review, adjust and confirm before learners receive results.

Who is responsible for the final assessment decision when AI is used?

EAL's AI Position Statement makes clear that responsibility for the assessment decision must remain entirely with the human assessor, and every AI-informed decision should be reviewed rather than sampled. Enterprise organisations on Feedback Flows can enforce human review gates, policy acknowledgement and audit trails before final completion.
